Victoria Park

London is one of the greenest cities in the world and with the arrival of spring it’s time to start shouting about our loveliest parks. Victoria Park (or the People’s Park) is definitely one of these, and although maybe not the best known park, it definitely has everything we love. Large open green spaces? Check. Canals, ponds and lakes to walk alongside? Check. Cute little cafes? Fun-filled friendly dogs? Farmers’ market on the weekend? Check check check.

And this place is huge, taking about an hour to do a full leisurely circuit of it all. There’s so much wildlife as well. Squirrels abound. Swans grace us with their presence. The Egyptian and Canadian geese are too chill to notice each other. And the coots fight with anything larger than them. Throw in a few ice cream trucks, a smattering of tennis courts, a skatepark and a few playground, and you’re onto a winner. It’s picnic time and now you know where to go 🙂
