Rarebit
Elephant & Castle has been going through something of a rejuvenation over the past few years and a whole slew of new exciting venues have been opening around there recently. Rarebit has been on our list for a while: modern British cuisine; great connections with the likes of Climpsons & Sons, Flor, and Neal’s Yard; a menu that looks like a selection of all my favourite dishes; and most importantly they serve rarebit. Sign me up.

At the moment the menu does have some really tasty hits. The grilled peach, burrata and thyme was very summery and welcome. The mussels in a coconut curry with sourdough went down way too easily. And the warm wild mushroom salad in sherry vinegar was loaded with so much flavour that it might be the best dish on the menu. But actually that accolade goes to the scallop and ‘nduja mac and cheese, crab bisque - we could eat that every day of the week. With a Bloody Mary ;) Don’t knock it till you try it!
