Ong Ong Buns
Another day, another amazing family-run business and I can’t get enough of this one. Ong Ong Buns is the husband/wife combo of Aaron (who was at the store when I went and is super lovely) and Icy. They brought this Chinese/Hong Kong/Malaysian bakery to London during the pandemic. Currently based on Bethnal Green Road in Shoreditch until the end of July, and recently opened in Seven Dials Market. Ong Ong Buns the perfect place to get some well deserved snacks to make your life immeasurably better.

Firstly, some really important information: I’m not sure I’ve had better char sui pork buns anywhere else and am really sad that I only got one for lunch. Might have to pop by again soon and buy the whole batch… But I digress. They are actually most famous for their pandan (an Asian vanilla-esque leaf) and coconut cake that was really delicious and light and tasty and moorish and mmmm yes please more. A final tip from me: get a jar of their pineapple cookies to go as these are not only super cute but taste exactly how they look: Stunning.
